Afghan Taliban commander Saeedullah Saeed issued a stern warning against unauthorized militant activities, emphasizing that attacks in any country, particularly Pakistan, are unlawful without the explicit order of the emir.
Commander Saeed clarified that the authority to declare or permit jihad rests solely with the state emir and not with any individual or faction. He condemned groups and individuals who operate independently, carrying out attacks across borders, labeling them as disobedient to both Sharia law and the leadership of the Afghan Emirate.
Saeed stressed that militants who join various factions to wage jihad abroad without the emir’s sanction are not true mujahideen. Such actions driven by personal ego or group loyalty constitute fitna (corruption) and religious disobedience.
He specifically addressed the Fitna al-Kharijites, stating that engaging in unauthorized fights outside Afghanistan, especially in Pakistan, violates religious and state authority. The commander’s remarks underline the Taliban leadership’s efforts to consolidate control and discourage rogue militant activities that could complicate regional security dynamics.
