Bilawal Warns Rising Pakistan-India Tensions Without Dialogue

Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has warned that tensions between Pakistan and India will continue to escalate if diplomatic dialogue remains suspended, emphasizing that the current regional environment is far less stable than it was before recent hostilities.

Speaking at a press conference in Brussels, Bilawal said, “India has continuously avoided talks, but if negotiations do not resume, tensions will rise every day. A ceasefire was reached, but peace was not achieved.”

The PPP leader referenced the Pahalgam incident, stating that Pakistan had offered an impartial investigation, which India declined. He also criticized India’s threats to cut off water supplies to Pakistan, calling it a provocative move. “These actions are not just hostile—they risk triggering serious conflict. We simply cannot afford a third world war,” he warned.

Bilawal highlighted the disturbing fact that both nations are nuclear-armed, yet the level of hostility has increased rapidly. He reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to comprehensive and peaceful dialogue, but India has consistently refused to come to the table.

Shifting focus to the broader regional instability, Bilawal urged the international community to take immediate steps to mediate a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. “The world cannot afford a full-scale war between Israel and Iran. We are already witnessing global unrest — another conflict could push the entire region into chaos,” he said.

Bilawal’s statements come at a time when cross-border shelling, diplomatic hostility, and regional wars are becoming more frequent, putting global peace at increasing risk. His remarks aim to spotlight the urgent need for dialogue, diplomacy, and multilateral engagement to prevent war and restore stability.
