Imran Khan Denies Allegations on 2014 Sit-in, Offers Cooperation with Inquiry Committee

PTI founder Imran Khan has vehemently denied all allegations leveled against him in connection with the 2014 sit-in, dismissing them as false. Speaking informally to journalists at Adiala Jail, Khan expressed readiness to cooperate with an inquiry into the sit-in and offered to appear before the inquiry committee.

Addressing the media, Khan questioned the necessity of apologizing for the events of May 9, asserting that those demanding apologies should be the ones offering them. He emphasized his willingness to engage in dialogue for the betterment of the country.

Khan highlighted that the events of May 9 came to light during his appearance in the Supreme Court, where he condemned them in front of Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial. He reiterated that PTI has always maintained a peaceful stance and has never resorted to violence or encirclement.

Furthermore, Khan expressed confidence in the integrity of the army and stated that PTI has always prioritized democratic processes over chaos. He criticized the 2013 election as being marred by irregularities and questioned the legitimacy of various elected officials.

Regarding recent statements by DG ISPR Major General Ahmed Sharif, Khan echoed the call for accountability and transparency. He supported the idea of a judicial commission to investigate the May 9 events comprehensively, urging it to delve into matters such as the attack on PTV and alleged efforts to destabilize the state.

Khan stressed the importance of uncovering the truth behind funding sources and social media campaigns aimed at spreading hate against institutions. He emphasized the need for thorough investigation and accountability to uphold democratic values and restore public trust.
