The ongoing war between Iran and Israel has entered a catastrophic new phase, as both sides launch heavy missile barrages and targeted strikes on key cities and infrastructure.
Early this morning, Iran launched over 100 ballistic missiles, bringing the total to 370 missiles and hundreds of drones fired at Israel in just four days. Iranian state media claimed successful hits on 30 strategic Israeli locations, including Tel Aviv, Haifa, and the Ben Gurion International Airport.
The Israeli Ministry of Defense has acknowledged severe damage, revealing that 24 Israeli citizens have been killed and 592 injured. The coastal city of Beit Yam is reported to be nearly destroyed, while parts of the Haifa oil refinery remain ablaze. A scientific research center and the Israeli Science University were among the claimed Iranian targets.
In a statement, Iranian military officials said their attacks also struck fuel supply facilities for Israeli fighter jets and that 44 Israeli drone strikes were intercepted in just the past 48 hours. They also claimed to have captured a Mossad drone factory near Islamabad on Tehran’s outskirts.
Meanwhile, Israel has continued its retaliation with devastating force. A targeted Israeli airstrike in central Tehran near Tajrish Square killed General Mohammad Kazemi, head of the Revolutionary Guards Intelligence Organization, along with Deputy General Hassan Mohaqiq and General Mohsen Baqeri. The IRGC also confirmed the deaths of Commander Reza Najafi and soldier Hassan Rasouli in Zanjan Province.
Israel further claimed the destruction of an Iranian military refueling aircraft at Mashhad Airport, severely damaging Iranian air logistics. The strike also reportedly damaged Tehran’s water supply infrastructure, a claim confirmed by Iranian authorities.
In one of the most controversial developments, Iran has accused Israel of deliberately bombing the Iranian Foreign Ministry's Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS). A video released by Deputy Foreign Minister shows the shattered library and extensive damage to civilian sections of the ministry building.
The Iranian Health Ministry reports that 224 Iranians have been martyred, with 1,277 injured, stating that 90% of the casualties are civilians.
With civilian and military casualties rising rapidly on both sides, international observers fear this may soon escalate into a broader regional war.
