Ishaq Dar Holds Telephonic Discussion with Afghan Foreign Minister

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, had a telephonic conversation with Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, Amir Khan Muttaqi, to discuss India’s baseless propaganda and regional issues.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the call took place amid improving bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Both ministers expressed satisfaction over the progress made in relations since Ishaq Dar's visit to Afghanistan on April 19.

Key points of the discussion included trade, connectivity, economic cooperation, people-to-people contacts, and re-establishing the political consultation mechanism.

During the call, Ishaq Dar apprised Muttaqi of the recent provocations by India and India’s illegal and unilateral actions against Pakistan, stressing Pakistan’s commitment to peace and sovereignty.

In turn, Muttaqi appreciated Pakistan's steps to enhance trade and travel facilitation and extended his best wishes for Pakistan’s government and people. He also invited Dar to visit Afghanistan again.

Both leaders emphasized the importance of long-term cooperation for regional peace and security and agreed on the significance of maintaining high-level contacts between the two countries.
