POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee and PTI MNA Junaid Akbar Khan accused the ruling coalition of seizing power through force rather than democratic means.
"For the first time in Pakistan’s history, a government has been formed that was given power by force—not by the people’s vote,” Junaid declared. “The public now understands that it’s not the voters that matter, it’s the ones who count the votes."
Junaid’s remarks echoed growing concerns within opposition ranks about the transparency of the electoral process and the legitimacy of the sitting government.
🧾 Budget Criticism: “Only Donkeys Have Grown!”
Turning his guns on the recently presented federal budget, Junaid ridiculed its claims of growth.
“If there’s been any growth in this budget, it’s in the population of donkeys,” he remarked sarcastically. “And if donkeys have increased, why hasn’t the public seen any progress?”
He further questioned the government's economic claims, pointing out that 15 million more Pakistanis have fallen below the poverty line despite these supposed achievements.
🗣️ Echoes of Frustration
Junaid Akbar’s blunt speech reflects the broader frustration within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over what they allege is an “engineered political environment.” His comments also tap into rising public dissatisfaction with soaring inflation, unemployment, and fiscal mismanagement.
Opposition leaders are expected to intensify their criticism in the coming days as the budget debate continues.
