The Judicial Commission has unanimously approved Justice Alia Neelam as the first woman Chief Justice of Lahore High Court. The commission's meeting, chaired by Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, marked a significant milestone in the judicial history of Pakistan.

 

Justice Alia Neelam’s nomination will now proceed to the Parliamentary Committee for final approval. Once confirmed, she will take on the prestigious role, breaking new ground for female representation in the judiciary.

 

Born on November 12, 1966, Justice Alia Neelam earned her LLB degree from Punjab University in 1995. She began her legal practice on February 1, 1996, and has since built a distinguished career marked by dedication and legal acumen.
