Pakistan's military leadership has accused India of continuing to sponsor terrorism in Pakistan through its proxies, following a military standoff that erupted in the wake of the Pahalgam attack on April 22, which India blamed on Pakistan without evidence.
At the 271st Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Monday, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir strongly condemned India’s actions and reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to respond to all threats with full force.
➤ “India Defeated Militarily, Now Resorting to Proxies”
Chairing the CCC, Field Marshal Munir stated:
“Following its manifest defeat in direct aggression against Pakistan post-Pahalgam incident, India is now doubling down to further its nefarious agenda through its proxies of Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan.”
In May, Pakistan officially designated terrorist groups in Balochistan as Fitna-al-Hindustan — a new term symbolising alleged Indian support for Baloch militant outfits. Last year, the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was designated Fitna-al-Khawarij, with all institutions directed to label them as khariji (outcasts).
➤ CCC Vows Decisive Action
In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military brass offered prayers for the martyrs of recent Indian-sponsored terrorist attacks and vowed that “their blood will not go to waste.”
“It is imperative to take decisive and holistic actions at all levels against the Indian-backed and sponsored proxies,” the CCC declared.
➤ Rejects Indian “Camp Politics” Narrative
Responding to recent claims by Indian military officials, who accused China of aiding Pakistan during the week-long missile exchange in May, the ISPR said:
“Invoking third parties in what is unmistakably a bilateral military confrontation reflects a disingenuous attempt at bloc politics.”
Field Marshal Munir denounced India’s attempt to frame itself as the “net security provider” in the region, warning of growing discontent with India’s hegemonic ambitions and Hindutva-driven extremism.
➤ Call for National Unity and Self-Reliance
The CCC also reviewed internal and external security challenges, particularly the rising global trend of using military force as a foreign policy tool.
“The situation warrants persistent development of self-reliant capabilities as well as national unity and resolve,” said the statement.
The army leadership was briefed on strategic adaptation, evolving threats, and progress in Pakistan’s tri-services synergy with Pakistan Navy and Air Force.
➤ Diplomatic Outreach Highlighted
The forum lauded Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic engagements, particularly Field Marshal Munir’s recent visits to Iran, Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the United States, where he accompanied Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
“The historic and unique visit of the COAS to the US enabled sharing of Pakistan’s objective perspective on regional and global developments,” the ISPR said.
➤ Full Operational Readiness Affirmed
In his closing remarks, Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed full confidence in the operational readiness of the Pakistan Army to meet the complete threat spectrum.
