Police Struggle to Make Headway in High-Profile Kidnapping of Cola Next Owner Zulfiqar Ahmed

The kidnapping of Zulfiqar Ahmed, a prominent businessman and owner of Cola Next, has left Karachi police grappling for answers, with no significant progress reported in the case. Ahmed was abducted on July 26 while traveling on Mauripur Road with his friend, Qaiser.

The Kalri police initially resisted registering a case, which led to intervention from the Sindh High Court. Following the court's summons, an FIR was filed against eight men accused of being involved in the kidnapping. The suspects were reportedly armed when they abducted Ahmed.

Karachi Police Chief Javed Alam Odho stated that two high-powered investigation teams, led by the CIA deputy inspector general and the Zonal DIG, have been formed to tackle the case. Despite their efforts, there have been no significant breakthroughs.

The kidnapping took place in Keamari, where Ahmed and his friend were forcibly taken by masked armed men. Qaiser, who was also taken but later released, reported that Ahmed was abducted at gunpoint and placed into a double cabin vehicle.

Family sources confirm that Zulfiqar Ahmed, also the owner of Paracha Textiles and Meezan Oil, was last seen being abducted by armed men, raising concerns about his safety and the efficacy of the ongoing investigation.

Eyewitnesses have provided details about the abduction, but so far, the police have not reported any progress in locating Ahmed or apprehending the suspects involved. The case remains a high priority for law enforcement as they continue their efforts to resolve the situation and secure Ahmed's safe return.
