Putin Declares Support for Iran, Calls Aggression Baseless in High-Stakes Meeting with Araqchi

Russian President Vladimir Putin declared his country’s full support for Iran, calling recent military aggression against Tehran “baseless” and unjustified.

During a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, President Putin said:

“Russia stands with the Iranian people. The aggression committed against Iran has no basis in international law, and our stance on the matter has already been clearly conveyed through our Ministry of Foreign Affairs.”

Putin further stated that the meeting with Araqchi presents an opportunity to seek de-escalation and a political resolution to the ongoing crisis sparked by US and Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

🔹 Common Ground and Shared Concerns

Araqchi, visibly appreciative of Moscow’s support, responded by saying:

“Russia is standing on the right side of history. Our two nations face common adversaries, and we expect the United Nations to unequivocally condemn the US-led attacks on Iran.”

The Iranian foreign minister reiterated Tehran’s call for justice and international accountability, especially following the massive destruction at the Fordow nuclear site after a US bunker-buster missile strike.

🔹 Geopolitical Implications

This meeting signals the strengthening of the Russia-Iran strategic partnership at a time when both nations face increasing pressure from Western powers. Moscow’s alignment with Tehran may further polarize international responses at the United Nations Security Council, where Russia, China, and Pakistan have already submitted a resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire.

Experts believe Putin’s backing could embolden Tehran’s position as it closes the door to diplomacy and prepares for a longer standoff.

🔹 Conclusion

With the Middle East at a tipping point, the high-level Moscow meeting reflects a deepening alliance between two of Washington’s primary rivals. As the war rhetoric escalates, the global community watches closely—hoping the diplomatic window isn’t already shut.
