Saifuddin Soz Warns Pakistan of Water Crisis, Blames Modi for Pahalgam Attack

Former Indian Congress Minister Saifuddin Soz has raised concerns over Pakistan's water situation, warning that if Pakistan attempts to divert water, the provinces of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir could be submerged. He stated that water is vital for Pakistan’s agriculture and drinking needs, and any disruption could have severe consequences for the country’s survival.

Soz emphasized that the international community is closely monitoring the water situation in Pakistan, underscoring the significance of transboundary water resources in the region. His comments come amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the deadly Pahalgam attack in occupied Kashmir, where 26 people were killed, mostly tourists.

In his remarks, Soz took a political stance, stating that Pakistan's position is clear in denying involvement in the attack. He accused the Modi government of orchestrating the attack, framing it as a conspiracy to fuel further animosity between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

"Water is the lifeline for Pakistan, and the world is watching closely as the situation escalates," Soz warned, highlighting the fragility of regional peace amid the ongoing conflict.

His comments come as India’s Directorate General of Foreign Trade announced a ban on the import of goods originating from or transiting via Pakistan, following the Pahalgam attack, which has intensified the diplomatic standoff between the two countries.
