4 PTI MPs Detained During Faisalabad Protest; Red Zone Sealed in Islamabad

Four Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) were detained on Wednesday as protests intensified in Faisalabad. Those arrested include MPA Rai Ahsan Raza Kharal, Malik Ismail, MPA Aghlam Sarwar, and Khyal Ahmed, local police confirmed. The detentions occurred during a PTI protest against the government.

The protest in Faisalabad is part of the PTI’s nationwide movement, which has sparked confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement. As tensions rise, the police have been cracking down on protest leaders, including elected representatives.

Meanwhile, in the federal capital Islamabad, authorities have sealed the Red Zone for the second time this week in anticipation of a PTI protest scheduled for Friday. Containers have been placed on key roads leading to the Red Zone, blocking access except for Margalla Road, which remains open for limited movement.

Security measures have been heightened across Islamabad, with containers placed at strategic points such as Faizabad on the Express Highway, Chongi No. 26, and along the motorway. The blockades have caused significant traffic disruptions, with long queues of vehicles reported on major routes.

The PTI's protests continue to draw attention nationwide as the party pushes back against recent political developments. With the protests expected to intensify in the coming days, authorities are taking stringent security measures to maintain order, especially in Islamabad, where the government is taking no chances with the heightened security situation.
