POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, on Tuesday expressed deep concern over the legal and political impasse surrounding her brother’s incarceration, saying his release seems unlikely in the near future.
Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Aleema stated, “All doors have been closed on us. The judge is under pressure — we understand this. We’re showing solidarity with the judiciary, but even that seems insufficient in these circumstances.”
She added that Imran Khan remains confident about the preparations for the party’s movement, stating that the PTI leadership is fully aware of his vision and directives. “They can’t stop this movement anymore,” she stressed.
Reflecting on the growing challenges, Aleema lamented that authorities intend to keep the PTI founder behind bars for many more months. “We don’t see his release happening anytime soon,” she said, suggesting that the onus now lies on the party leadership to determine the way forward for Khan’s release.
Aleema Khan’s remarks come amid increasing frustration within PTI ranks over the legal deadlock, as multiple cases and appeals concerning Imran Khan’s convictions and detentions remain unresolved.
