A strict curfew has been imposed in 24 areas of Mamond Tehsil in Bajaur district as security forces launch a targeted operation against terrorists, officials confirmed on Saturday.

According to a notification issued by the district administration with the approval of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home Department, the curfew came into effect at 5:00pm on August 16 and will remain in force until 5:00pm on August 21.

During this period, residents are strictly prohibited from travelling on roads or leaving their homes. All public movement and outdoor activities have been suspended in order to ensure the safety of civilians and allow security personnel to conduct the operation without hindrance.

The administration has urged the public to fully comply with the curfew and support security agencies during the operation. Residents have been warned that any violation of the curfew order could result in serious consequences, and that any untoward incident occurring due to non-compliance will be the sole responsibility of the individuals concerned.

Authorities have appealed for cooperation, saying the operation is aimed at eliminating threats to peace and restoring security in the region. Further updates will be issued as the situation progresses.
