POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

All preparations have been finalized for the presentation of Pakistan’s federal budget for the fiscal year 2025-26. Sources confirm that the budget session of the National Assembly will be convened on June 10, while the Senate session will be held later that day at 9 pm.
The National Assembly session is being convened following a summary submitted by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, with the official notification awaiting approval from the President of Pakistan. The session will focus on the presentation of the upcoming budget, which is expected to cover major aspects such as inflation control measures, revenue generation, development projects, and defense expenditure.
Meanwhile, the Senate session has also been scheduled with the President’s approval. The budget documents will be tabled during the session, allowing lawmakers in the Upper House to commence detailed discussions and deliberations on the proposed budgetary allocations.
This synchronized approach ensures a comprehensive parliamentary review of the fiscal plan that will guide Pakistan’s economic policies and priorities in the year ahead.
