Gandapur Challenges Institutions, Vows to Quit Politics if Govt Toppled

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur issued a bold challenge to state institutions on Tuesday, asserting that no constitutional force can topple his government and vowing to quit politics if it happens.

Speaking at a press conference following the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Joint Parliamentary Party meeting, Gandapur claimed that his government cannot be overthrown without a conspiracy. He accused certain elements of launching a political campaign against PTI and said that unity within the party remains unshaken.

“If you think you can create a divide within PTI, you are gravely mistaken. We are united. No matter how much pressure you apply, no one can topple this government through constitutional means,” he said.

Gandapur emphasized that the PTI founder still holds ultimate political power, saying, “All power lies with the founder of PTI. He can dismantle the government with just one order.”

🔥 Criticism of Judiciary and Reserved Seats Controversy

The chief minister didn't hold back in criticizing the recent legal and electoral decisions that have affected PTI. He said the 26th Constitutional Amendment, which altered the allocation of reserved seats, is a "stain on Pakistan’s judiciary and constitutional system."

“First, our mandate was stolen, and then our reserved seats were snatched away. The founder of PTI is the real target; May 9 is just an excuse,” Gandapur remarked, referencing the ongoing legal cases and political crackdowns on PTI leadership and supporters.

He alleged that efforts had been made to pressure him personally to leave the party, stating that he was “taken around Pakistan” and urged to disassociate from PTI.

🧭 Message of Defiance and Loyalty

The press conference underscored Gandapur’s loyalty to PTI’s founder and his commitment to standing firm despite mounting pressure. He said that today's parliamentary party meeting sent a “clear message of unity and consensus” to both the public and political rivals.

“I had anticipated that this meeting might be disrupted, but it happened. We are solid and aligned. This is a strong message to our opponents.”

Ali Amin Gandapur's defiant remarks come amid increased political uncertainty and growing tensions between PTI and state institutions. His bold challenge to quit politics if his government is constitutionally ousted adds a new layer of intensity to Pakistan’s evolving political landscape.
