In a strongly worded statement, Director General ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry revealed that India launched fresh drone attacks in multiple areas of Pakistan during the night of May 7, which were decisively repelled by the Pakistan Army.
Addressing the media, DG ISPR stated that Indian forces deployed Israeli-made Herop drones targeting 25 locations across Lahore, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Attock, Bahawalpur, Chhor, Mianwali, Gujranwala, and Karachi. However, all drones were successfully neutralized using a combination of soft kill and hard kill defense systems. Wreckage of the drones has been recovered from the targeted areas as evidence of Indian hostility.
According to Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif, four Pakistan Army officers sustained injuries during the attack in Lahore, while a civilian was martyred in Mianwali. He affirmed that Pakistan's armed forces acted swiftly and responsibly, preventing further casualties and destruction.
The DG ISPR further highlighted the events of May 6 and 7, when India had attacked civilian areas in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, and Bagh, as well as Muridke and Shakargarh in Azad Kashmir. These unprovoked assaults claimed the lives of 31 Pakistani civilians and left 57 others injured.
In response to these provocations, the Pakistan Army retaliated effectively, destroying five Indian aircraft — including three Rafale jets — and several military check posts in occupied Kashmir.
"India is not only jeopardizing regional peace but also threatening global stability," DG ISPR warned. "Pakistan has both the will and the capability to respond to such aggression in kind."
The latest incidents mark a dangerous escalation in tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. International observers have expressed concern over the growing frequency and intensity of cross-border military engagements, urging restraint and dialogue.
