the Pakistan federal cabinet has approved the removal of the age limit for important appointments, signaling a shift in the government's policy and paving the way for new appointments with salaries of up to Rs 20 lakh per month. The decision comes as part of efforts to promote new talent and enhance the efficiency of federal ministries and divisions.

 

According to sources familiar with the matter, the federal cabinet amended the Special Professional Pay Scales Policy 2019, eliminating the age limit of up to 65 years for appointments to key positions. The decision was made to facilitate the hiring of talented professionals, technical experts, and consultants without any upper age restrictions.

 

The approval for the amendments was obtained through circulation, with the cabinet endorsing the changes proposed by a committee headed by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif initiated the committee to review the existing policy and recommend necessary amendments to promote new talent and strengthen federal ministries and divisions.

 

Government sources emphasize that the amendments are aimed at creating a world-class talent pool and enhancing the effectiveness of the governance system in federal institutions.
