POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Afridi has responded to recent speculation about the joining of former PML-N spokesman and ex-Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair into PTI. Speaking to the media, Barrister Gohar emphasized that PTI is a political party with open doors for everyone willing to join.
When asked about Muhammad Zubair’s potential entry into the party, he said, “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is a political party; our doors are open to everyone.”
In addition, Barrister Gohar spoke on the legal proceedings concerning the suspension of sentences of the PTI Patron-in-Chief. He noted that for the first time, a case has been filed in the Islamabad High Court where a prosecution team will appear.
Comparing this with Nawaz Sharif’s previous cases, Barrister Gohar highlighted that Nawaz Sharif was released after 70 days in the first case and after 51 days in the second. In contrast, the cases against the founder of PTI are approaching their two-year mark on August 3. He stressed the need for justice to be seen being done.
Barrister Gohar’s remarks reflect PTI’s stance on inclusivity and underscore concerns about the fairness and timing of judicial processes in politically sensitive cases.
