A tragic road accident in Karachi claimed the lives of two young friends after a water tanker collided with their motorcycle near the Inter-Board Office, Abdullah College area.

According to police sources, the deceased were identified as 20-year-old Zubair and 18-year-old Ayan. The two were childhood friends who had reportedly gone out to have ice cream when the fatal accident occurred.

In the aftermath of the crash, enraged local residents set the water tanker on fire and assaulted the driver. The situation escalated quickly until police arrived at the scene. Law enforcement intervened, rescuing the driver from the mob and extinguishing the fire with the help of nearby citizens.

The driver was arrested and taken to Paposh Nagar Police Station along with the damaged tanker.

Speaking to the media, Zubair's brother Rizwan confirmed that the two victims had been close friends since childhood, and their sudden death has left their families and community in deep shock and mourning.

Police have launched further investigations into the cause of the accident and the tanker driver’s responsibility.
