POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

In a fiery statement, Khalistan Movement leader Garuptunat Singh Pannu has warned that if India launches an attack on Pakistan, it will be the last war between the two nations. Pannu, known for his advocacy of the Khalistan movement, declared that Punjab will break free from Indian rule and become an independent nation.
Pannu asserted that the people of Indian Punjab stand united with Pakistan, describing Punjab as a "backbone" to Pakistan's efforts. He further stated that Pakistan would move forward with a Khalistan referendum at the United Nations, aiming to secure international recognition for an independent Khalistan.
Pannu also claimed that the Pakistani army would anchor itself in Indian Punjab, and together with the Sikh population, they would resist the Indian military. "We will fight the Indian army," he said.
The Khalistan leader also mentioned the rising resistance against Indian rule within Punjab, noting that wall chalking has begun in the cantonment areas of occupied Indian Punjab. These messages advocate for Sikhs to refrain from fighting against Pakistan and show solidarity with the nation.
Earlier, Pannu released a video statement declaring that 20 million Sikhs stood in support of Pakistan and would not allow the Indian army to pass through Punjab to attack Pakistan. This sentiment of resistance and alliance with Pakistan reflects the growing tensions and calls for autonomy within the Sikh community in India.
The Khalistan movement, which seeks to establish an independent Sikh homeland, has long been a point of contention between India and the Sikh diaspora. Pannu’s latest statement further intensifies these tensions and places him at the center of the ongoing geopolitical struggle.
