Ranipur Youths Kidnapped in Kandhkot: Ransom Video Goes Viral

A disturbing video has gone viral on social media, showing two abducted youths from Ranipur — Muzammil Shahani and Majid Panhyar — being brutally beaten by robbers who are demanding a ransom of Rs 1 crore for their release.

The victims had reportedly travelled to Kandhkot after receiving a wedding invitation via Facebook. Once they arrived, they were abducted by armed men.

In the harrowing video, both youths can be seen handcuffed, tied up, and pleading for their lives. They identify themselves as residents of Ranipur and reveal they are being tortured day and night. “They’re killing us... please save our lives and pay them. We don’t want to run; just give them money and get us out,” one of the victims pleads in the footage.

Adding to the emotional weight of the incident, Ghulam Sughra Panhyar — the mother of abducted Majid — appeared before the media with the Holy Quran in her hands. In tears, she begged authorities for her son’s safe return. “We’re poor, we live on the streets, we work hard for a living. Where will we get five million rupees?” she said, adding that the kidnappers have reduced their demand to Rs 5 million for her son’s release.

The family has made heartfelt appeals to SSP Kandhkot, DIG Sukkur, and IG Sindh for immediate intervention, invoking the Holy Quran to urge action on humanitarian grounds.

This incident has triggered widespread public anger, not only over the lawlessness in the region but also the growing trend of social media entrapments used by criminal networks to lure and kidnap victims.

Law enforcement authorities have yet to issue a formal statement, but calls for swift and effective action are growing louder as the video continues to circulate.
