Saudi Arabia Calls for Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza, Rejects Forced Palestinian Eviction

During a key Arab League meeting in Baghdad, Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir strongly called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and firmly rejected any attempts to forcibly displace the Palestinian people.

Al-Jubeir condemned the serious human rights violations committed by Israel in Gaza, describing them as blatant breaches of international law and the UN Charter. “We must all work together to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people,” he said.

Reiterating Saudi Arabia’s principled stance, al-Jubeir emphasized the kingdom’s rejection of any solutions that fail to meet the legitimate demands of Palestinians, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

This statement coincides with recent reports from American media alleging that the Trump administration is working on a controversial plan to permanently relocate approximately 1 million Palestinians from Gaza to Libya. Sources claim discussions have taken place with Libyan leadership, and the U.S. may restore billions of frozen dollars to Libya as part of the proposal.

Saudi Arabia’s position highlights the continued regional push for a just resolution respecting Palestinian rights amid escalating tensions and humanitarian crises in Gaza.
