Arrest Warrant Issued for Former Minister Fawad Chaudhry in Corruption Case

The Special Judge Anti-Corruption Rawalpindi has issued an arrest warrant against former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in a land-related corruption case.

Fawad Chaudhry was repeatedly summoned by the court but failed to appear, prompting Judge Khawar Rasheed to issue the warrant for his arrest. The court expressed strong displeasure over the non-presentation of the challan by the investigating officer and ordered that it be submitted at a later hearing.

The case, registered by the Anti-Corruption Police Station in Jhelum, alleges that a substantial bribe was involved in the acquisition of land. The court adjourned the hearing until June 30, instructing that the former minister be produced before the court.

This development marks an escalation in legal proceedings against Fawad Chaudhry amid ongoing corruption investigations.
