The Federal Ministry of Law and Justice has officially denounced a fake notification circulating on social media, claiming that Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Pakistan.

 

In a statement released on Wednesday, the ministry clarified that no such notification has been issued. The fraudulent document has been widely shared online, raising questions about its legitimacy.

 

“The notification regarding Justice Mansoor Ali Shah’s appointment as Chief Justice of Pakistan, currently being circulated on social media, is fake,” the ministry stated. It emphasized that any such decisions are made in accordance with official procedures, and no such announcement has been made yet.

 

Justice Mansoor Ali Shah: A Senior Judge in Line for the CJP Position

Justice Mansoor Ali Shah is currently a senior judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. According to the Constitution, he is in line to become the Chief Justice after the retirement of the current Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Justice Qazi Faiz Isa. However, the official date of this transition has yet to be determined, as it is contingent on the formal retirement of CJP Isa.

 

The Ministry of Law and Justice further urged citizens to refrain from spreading false information and to verify news from official sources. “The Ministry of Law has not issued any notification regarding Justice Mansoor Ali Shah’s appointment,” it reiterated.
