Pakistan, India Agree to Immediate Ceasefire: Ishaq Dar

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar, has officially confirmed that Pakistan and India have agreed to an immediate ceasefire following days of escalating military and cyber tensions.

In an exclusive conversation with Geo News on Saturday evening, Dar stated that both nations agreed to halt all hostilities at 4:30 PM, signaling a major de-escalation after intense cross-border exchanges and retaliatory actions from both sides.

“War is not the solution to anything,” Dar emphasized. “We conveyed clearly that Pakistan is ready for a ceasefire. However, any future aggression will be met with an appropriate response.”

Dar expressed his gratitude to the countries that played a role in facilitating the ceasefire through behind-the-scenes diplomatic efforts. “All day long, serious diplomatic engagements took place. Thanks to those involved, we were able to reach this agreement.”

Reflecting on the recent conflict, Dar highlighted that Pakistan’s response was both firm and measured. “We acknowledged yesterday and today—Pakistan defended itself vigorously and responded with dignity. Yet, our desire for regional peace remains unwavering, without compromising on sovereignty or territorial integrity.”

The ceasefire announcement comes amid rising global concern over the potential for wider conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. Earlier, Pakistan had launched retaliatory strikes in response to Indian missile attacks and cyber intrusions, while also engaging in large-scale military and digital counter-operations.

Observers hope that this ceasefire agreement marks the beginning of renewed efforts toward sustainable peace and diplomatic dialogue in the region.
